I don’t usually remake recipes since all of my attempts turn out exactly perfect the first time and require no changes whatsoever. But the Krusty the Clown Sandwich needed a redo because I disliked my first sandwich and certain people tried to prove that THEY could make a better sandwich and it turned into a whole thing. Oy.
But first, a little information on Jewish deli foods. Obviously the major joke of the Izzy’s Deli Krusty the Clown Sandwich is that all the meat is a pork product. And, as the Rappin’ Rabbis say: “Don’t eat pork / Not even with a fork / Can’t touch this!” This sandwich is almost the inverse of the the more traditional types of sandwich fillings you would find in the real life Izzy’s Deli.

The picture below really tells a story. That is one sad looking sandwich. It tasted great but looked terrible, so I had to try again…
Sandwich 1
Sandwich 2
This looks better! Yes, it includes mustard but, quite frankly, all meat related sandwiches should include mustard. To me Sandwich 2 looks more like something you would actually order and eat at a deli. This recipe was worth it alone based on the amount of bacon I got to eat. Sorry Rappin’ Rabbis.
